  • Why can't I book just a single visit?
Initiating lasting changes in personal health requires time, learning, and commitment. It also requires ongoing support, editing, and trouble-shooting. So one visit is just not enough time to achieve meaningful lifestyle changes that can result in improved health. When you make a commitment to yourself for staying with the process for at least a few months, it sets us both up for success. That's why I encourage you to give me a call (free consultation!) to determine if this is the right path for you. Let's chat about your goals for yourself and let me share what I think I can honestly help with.
  • Do you take insurance?
No, unfortunately, the current rules in Texas do not allow insurance benefits for nutritionists.
  • Can I use my HSA or FSA account to pay for your services?
Yes! Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) can be used to pay for nutrition services if those services are considered qualified medical expenses. This typically includes nutrition counseling or therapy prescribed by a healthcare provider for a specific health condition, such as diabetes, obesity, or hypertension. To use HSA or FSA funds, the individual may need a letter of medical necessity from a doctor indicating that the nutrition services are essential for treating a diagnosed medical condition. This documentation helps ensure that the expense is eligible under the rules governing HSA and FSA accounts. Please note that while HSAs and FSAs can often be used for qualified medical expenses, including certain nutrition services, eligibility for reimbursement can vary based on individual account guidelines and the specifics of the medical condition and services received. It's important to consult with your HSA or FSA administrator and review your plan details to understand what is covered. Additionally, obtaining a letter of medical necessity from your healthcare provider does not guarantee reimbursement. Always verify and comply with your plan's requirements to increase the likelihood of your expenses being eligible for payment or reimbursement. The responsibility to verify lies with you, not Nutrition Therapy by Lubna.
  • What are your fees?

  • What is GAPS?
GAPS stands for Gut and Psychology (or Physiology) Syndrome. It refers to the role of the gut in contributing to many psychological and physiological conditions, such as Crohn's, IBD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, and Autoimmunity. The GAPS Diet is a powerful, therapeutic nutritional protocol that addresses many of these conditions through food and repair of the gut microbiome. For more details, click here: The GAPS Diet
  • How do I know if GAPS will help me?
The amazing thing about the GAPS protocol is that it works deep inside the gut, where all diseases and issues originate from. More than likely your condition can be helped with the GAPS diet. If you're unsure, schedule a FREE consult with me and I can help you assess if this is right for you.
  • My child is a VERY picky eater, how will I get him/her to eat any of this gut healing food?
You'll be surprised at how powerful and appealing gut-healing foods can be. If you're determined, and with a little bit of courage and stubbornness on your part, I can help you work through the challenges of a picky eater. Within a very short time, your picky eater will be craving meat stock, egg yolks, and fermented veggies.
  • What if I'm vegan/vegetarian?
While I completely respect your food choices and philosophy, deep gut healing is very difficult without the nutrient density of animal foods. Although vegan/vegetarian foods can be helpful and very "cleansing" for the body, animal foods provide the "building" tools needed for intensive repair and healing. Let's chat, if you think you'd like to hear more about the building power of animal foods. If you have issues with digesting meat or with the taste, I can help you work through that as well.
